Lent to Maundy Thursday

Page CXVI (a reference to p. 116 in The Magician’s Nephew by CS Lewis) is the name of a local Colorado band that fills a rather unusual niche: finding and repainting older hymns. They have released four albums of hymns, an album of lullabies, and are currently in the middle of a year-long project of albums for the church calendar.

Their first album in this new series, called Advent to Christmas, was released at the end of last year. Now this coming Tuesday, March 4th, they’re releasing the next album entitled Lent to Maundy Thursday. It’s a rich and beautiful album, and I commend it to you.

Though I think you’ll enjoy the whole thing, I want to point out one track in particular that has especially hit me. Called “Fast From, Feast On,” it perfectly captures the true spirit of Lent. Give it your ear:

If you want to preview the whole album, they have it up on Soundcloud. Make sure to grab a copy on Tuesday!
